LOUISIANA- Amnesty internationalist has called for the release of Louisiana inmate and Angola 3 member Albert Woodfox after a federal appeals court rule on Thursday (Nov. 20) in Woodfoxs regard. The major compassionate right organization, stated in a press release Friday (Nov. 21) that Woodfox spending over forty years in solitary confinement, raises serious human rights concerns. The part from the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a district judges ruling that upset(a) Woodfoxs conviction of murder in 1972 of an Angola guard.According to court documents, a three judge instrument panel all agreed that Woodfox did not receive a fair trial in 1998 when his case was seek a second time do to racial discrimination in the selection of a princely jury foreperson.
